Downtown Placerville - Ever heard of hang town? Do you know the history of the bell? Gold mining and fires also are a part of the history behind Placerville. Coloma -Marshall Gold Discovery Park - There is Gold in those hills and Marshall's gold disovery led to so many towns and history making stories in CA. Historic Nevada City - since its inception, Nevada City was known for it's 7 hills, general store,unique homes & complete history to the gold Rush of 1849. Lake Tahoe is home to some of the best skiing, tourism, history and mansions as well as hiking, biking and fishing. Take out a paddle boat or lay out on some of the beaches. Down Town Grass Valley - Grass Valleys claim to fame is for being the richest of all gold towns during the great rush besides having some of the natural beauty it holds. Sutter Creek will help your imagination run as you take a stroll through the down town area. There are buildings a 100 + years old that at first glance show their architecture & history. Amador City was named after Jose Maria Amador who was a soldier as well as a rancher. The town has a population of 185 people and is the home of the Keystone Mine. Jackson City is Amador County's largest city that was founded in 1848 & was almost wiped out by a raging fire in 1862 has survived & thrived along Highway 49.
